In the middle of the ancient rock fortress of Tegharghar is a series of natural water springs of which the most important is Tiyinen. An endangered species of monkeys have been living here for as long as can be remembered. This is the natural environment where the nearly extinct desert mountain goats may be found. At Tinfinssa, the well-known legend amongst the local population of the seven sleepers of the cavern of the sourate ELKAHF allegedly occurred in this place. The remains of an ancient village named Tinfinsa and a grotto closed by a rock too large for a human to have moved are the last vestiges of this great legend.
